Karl joined Fipra as a Special Adviser in March 2017 and works within the Healthcare, Bio-tech and Clean-tech sectors.

Karl has extensive first-hand knowledge of Healthcare having been an executive board director at a £10bn regional commissioning organisation and then subsequently at Leeds Teaching Hospital’s Trust, the largest Hospital group in Europe with a £1.1bn per annum budget that treats 6 million patients per year. During this time Karl was also a director of the North Health Science Alliance based at the University of Manchester which is the bid application and coordinating body for Northern England’s Russell Group Universities and Teaching Hospitals. Prior to joining the NHS, Karl was a partner at Finsbury Public Relations and before that a political advisor working for, amongst others, Rt Hon Gordon Brown MP and Hilliary Clinton respectively. Karl is the Chair of Community Links a third sector not-for-profit mental healthcare organisation providing services to vulnerable people across the North of England and of the Dean Clough Foundation an arts charity and sponsor which is based in Halifax West Yorkshire.
