Rauf joined Fipra as a Special Adviser for Libya in 2012.

A native Libyan, Rauf ended a 19 year career with the Arab Banking Corporation Group for which he was based at various times in Bahrain, London and Milan covering the Arab World and European Corporates. A keen observer and supporter of the changes in Libya, Rauf is now bringing his extensive public policy, investment banking, treasury, commercial banking, Islamic finance, syndications and project finance experience to bear for and in the new Libya. Rauf is also a board member with United Bank for Commerce & Investment (UBCI) Libya and a director with Tuareg Capital which was established as the first ever private equity firm to operate in Libya. A graduate in Business Administration from Pepperdine University, California, Rauf speaks fluent Arabic, English, Italian, French and has an understanding of Spanish.
