Fipra announces two new Partners, expands international network
BRUSSELS, Belgium – Fipra, the EU and international public affairs consultancy, is today pleased to announce the appointment of two new Partners and a further expansion of its pan-European and international network with the addition of Lexington Communications, the UK’s leading independent public affairs and communications agency.
Kaisu Karvala joins Fipra as a Partner with immediate effect from the Finnish game company Rovio entertainment Group, where she led Global Corporate Affairs, PR and communications for the Angry Birds brand. Earlier in her career, she chaired the European Mobile Operators Alliance GSMA Europe and was Group Vice-President for Corporate Affairs at Telia Sonera.
Said Karvala: “After having flown around the globe with the company behind the Angry Birds for the past five years, I felt it was the right time to land on another nest and return to the government relations area – and my obvious choice was Fipra, the best of the independent public affairs practices in Brussels, together with its impressive pan-European and international network.”
Fipra also announces the promotion of Willem Vriesendorp to Partner, effective 1 January 2018. Vriesendorp, who is Dutch and has a background as a competition lawyer and public affairs consultant, has led the growth of Fipra’s Industry and Chemicals practice and worked on competition cases.
In addition, three senior executives have joined the firm and will be assisting with Fipra’s work in the area of competition policy, digital policy, and health, respectively:
– Clara Rosales, who is Spanish and was trained as a competition lawyer, joins as an Account Manager from the specialty news service PaRR, where she edited stories on competition policy.
– Matti Rantanen, who is Finnish and previously worked with a digital start-up in Finland and as a communications and public affairs adviser in Brussels, joins as a Senior Account Executive.
– Sorina Chivu, who is Romanian, joins as a Senior Account Executive after working on health, transport, and human rights at a public affairs company in Brussels and holding positions at the Secretariat General of the European Commission and at the Permanent Representation of Romania in Brussels.
Fipra has an extensive network of public affairs advisors across the European Union and elsewhere internationally, operating in more than 50 countries around the world.
Fipra has now expanded its reach with the addition of Lexington Communications to the Fipra network. Lexington, established in 1998, is the UK’s leading independent public affairs and communications agency, with offices in London and Manchester. At a time when many businesses and organisation are increasingly focusing on Brexit, Fipra is delighted to welcome Lexington to the Fipra network as our UK partner.
