Modernising European Governance: An Advantage for the Von Der Leyen Mandate?

Inclusion, sustainability, social justice, innovation, global competitiveness and governance are central to the Von der Leyen’s Commission and present a set of interlocked and systemic challenges that need to be addressed.
As the EU institutions are working to make Europe more green, digital, and self-reliant, tackling these issues demand a different approach to regulation. The aim of this event is to bring fresh thinking on how regulators can design a progressive approach to regulation, where responsible innovation can thrive. We will focus on some of the following themes:
- Do we need a different approach to regulation?
- Which novel tools and methods are needed to achieve society’s regulatory goals more effectively and efficiently?
- How can we regulate the digital space? What role will data play in regulation?
