Gerd Götz joins FIPRA as a Special Advisor on Green Transition
We are pleased to announce that Gerd Götz has joined FIPRA as a Special Advisor on Green Transition.
Gerd served as the Director General of European Aluminium (the European industry association for aluminium producers) from 2013 to 2022, after having worked for more than 20 years at Royal Philips, most recently as the Global Head of Public Affairs.
During his time at European Aluminium, Gerd launched the “Sustainability Roadmap Towards 2025” as a driver to reposition the entire value chain, long before the Green Deal and subsequent (European Commission) initiatives.
With an ambitious agenda and transparent reporting, gradually supplemented by the “Vision 2050” for a low-carbon industry and the “Circular Aluminium Action Plan,” the sector has not only pioneered a long-term vision for green change but has also set global metals industry benchmarks.
I am excited to join the widely respected FIPRA team as a Special Advisor – it’s a unique hub of clients and colleagues who care about Europe’s sustainable competitiveness as much as I do.
