Steve Chatfield joins FIPRA as Special Advisor on Health Security
We are delighted to announce that Steve Chatfield has joined FIPRA as a Special Advisor on Health Security. With over 40 years of experience in biopharma and the public sector, Steve brings invaluable expertise in biologics product development, emergency preparedness, and response against pandemics, emerging diseases, and bioterror threats.
Steve was a member of the UK Vaccine Network, which has been advising the UK government on preparedness against emerging diseases and bioterror threats. Steve has also advised the EU Commission and the EU Parliament on emergency preparedness and response to biological and chemical weapons.
I am very excited to join FIPRA as a special advisor on Vaccines and Health Security in order to assist the organisation in helping clients shape their strategies on these critical health areas.

As Director of the Centre for Emergency Preparedness and Response at Porton Down within the Health Protection Agency (now the Health Security Agency), Steve was responsible for protecting and responding to threats such as emerging diseases, pandemics, and chemical and biological weapons. Steve was also appointed as an independent expert to the EU Parliament Terror Committee to advise on policy to prepare and protect against Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) threats.
Steve serves on the boards of several UK life science companies, including the Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult, Prokarium, and The Precision Health Technology Accelerator (Birmingham University).
