Thomas joined Fipra International in early 2017 and works across a number of policy areas including international trade, Brexit, digital and regulatory affairs.

Thomas also supports the Network team in its day-to-day management of the Fipra Global Network across 50+ markets. Prior to joining Fipra, Thomas worked as a policy adviser in a Chinese trade policy institute based in Shanghai. On his return to Brussels, Thomas joined the Permanent Representation of Belgium to the European Union, providing advice to diplomats on international trade issues, enlargement policy and foreign affairs. He then completed a traineeship at the European Commission within the department responsible for international development and co-operation, looking at a host of cross-cutting policy themes including Aid for Trade, innovative financial instruments, trade facilitation measures, and foreign market entry assistance. Thomas has a dual M.A. in International Relations from the Université Libre de Bruxelles and Tongji University, as well as an advanced M.A. in EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies from the College of Europe. Thomas speaks French, English, German, has a good command of Dutch, and is currently learning Arabic.
