
Christina Hippisley
Christina is a Special Advisor for trade and development issues, primarily on issues relating to Portugal.
After graduating from Trinity College, Cambridge University in 1985, Christina started her career working for Valin Pollen International, a financial communications business in London, and then joined the international advertising agency J. Walter Thompson. After being posted to Lisbon, she then lived and worked for 10 years in Portugal, later running her own business which supplied contract publishing services to Portugal’s largest hotel chains and the Portuguese National Tourist Offices around the world.
In 1996 Christina returned to the UK to continue her career in publishing, working in senior roles at the Hemming Group, Archant Specialist Media and the Virgin Group.
In 2006 she was made a Director of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce in the UK and became the Executive General Manager of the Chamber in 2009. At the Chamber, she is responsible for advising member companies on their market entry and business development strategies in both the UK and Portugal. The Chamber has been commended for its work in recent years by Portugal’s worldwide network of Chambers of Commerce and by Portugal’s Secretary of State for Internationalization.
