Jakob is a founding partner at FIPRA Japan. Jakob has been involved with Japanese politics and policy-making for 20 years as an academic, diplomat and representative of foreign industry in Japan. As Policy Director of the European Business Council, the trade policy arm of the 17 European National Chambers of Commerce and Business Associations in Japan, Jakob managed and supervised lobbying activities of over 300 member companies in 29 sector committees. Representing European business in policy debates within ruling party and ministry policy committees, Jakob has unique experience in working with the Japanese administration and Parliament on everything from trade issues to financial regulation. Jakob served for five years as Senior Trade Officer at the Swedish Embassy in Tokyo. Jakob has undergraduate degrees in Political Science and Japanese as well as a Masters in International Political Economy from the University of Tsukuba. Jakob speaks Japanese, English and Swedish.
