Janssen

Uwe co-founded FIPRA Germany in April 2000 as a founder member of the network. Prior to this, Uwe worked as a public affairs consultant specialising in defence, telecommunications, state aid and competition issues and was strategic political advisor to Vodafone in the Vodafone-Mannesmann takeover battle. From 1980-1996 Uwe was Secretary of the Social Democratic Party in the Bavarian Federal State Parliament. Uwe set up and ran the Brussels office of the Union of Socialist Parties of the EC which organized the first direct elections to the European Parliament. From 1970-1978, he held various positions within the headquarters of the Social Democratic Party in Germany including Secretary of the Defence Committee. Uwe has a doctorate (PhD) in Archaeology and speaks English and German.
