FIPRA welcomes Erik Jonnaert as Partner

Erik Jonnaert, previously Special Advisor for transport and mobility with FIPRA Public Affairs, has expanded his relationship with us to join the partnership as of September 2021.
Erik brings to the table a wealth of experience in government relations, corporate strategy and communications. His illustrious career so far spans three decades where he led communications and public affairs for Procter & Gamble in both Europe and Asia, before moving to the automobile industry.
“I feel privileged to be invited to join the partnership of FIPRA, and I am looking forward to contributing to the success of FIPRA’s clients by leveraging my past experience in working across several industry sectors and countries, both in and outside Europe,” said Erik.

Erik has over the years been actively involved in Business Europe promoting stakeholder dialogue that makes a real impact, and has served as Chairman of the European Centre for Public Affairs. He was also until recently chairman of the European Automotive and Telecoms Alliance (EATA), bringing together automotive and telecom players to address the challenges of a more digitalised mobility eco-system.
Alongside being a Partner with FIPRA, Erik will continue to be a Director of the Mont Blanc Circle for Public Affairs, a think-tank group of senior government relations leaders. He also continues to support the New Mobility Foundation International as a co-founder and board member.

Prior to joining FIPRA, Erik worked to shape policy as a special envoy on road safety for the International Automotive Industry Association (OICA); and is the former Secretary General of the European Car Manufacturers Association (ACEA).
He was the chairman of the European Centre for Public Affairs (1998-2008) and is still active on the advisory group of the McKinsey Center for the Future of Mobility.
Erik is a law graduate from both the University of Ghent in Belgium and Harvard Law School in the USA. He speaks English, French and Dutch.
