As part of the EU Industry Days, the HYBRIT Initiative – a joint venture between SSAB, LKAB and Vattenfall – cordially invites you to join its local side event on Climate leadership: European industry at the forefront”, hosted at the Swedish Permanent Representation to the EU.
The event will discuss industry transformation against the backdrop of the European Commission’s long-term strategy and vision for a net zero goal by 2050, and deliver policy recommendations for industry, NGOs, academia and wider society.
- How can we develop an EU industrial policy that supports both competitiveness and climate?
- What role can low-carbon technologies, renewable electricity, hydrogen and energy storage play in a renewed EU industrial policy?
- How can public and private actors unlock the necessary investments?

The HYBRIT Initiative endeavours to revolutionise steel-making. HYBRIT aims to replace coal with fossil free electricity and green hydrogen. The result will be the world’s first fossil-free iron-and steel-making technology, with virtually no carbon footprint. It is a paradigm shift in the history of steel making and can play a significant role to contribute to reach E.U’s climate goals.
