Open Access to Data – Beyond Public Sector Information (PSI) II: what will the drive for open data, data sharing and data access mean for data innovators?

In June, the Council of the EU adopted new rules to extend the scope of the Public Sector Information Directive, which aims at increasing the availability of public data and unlocking the potential of the data economy.

In light of the fast-paced digital environment, public data sharing and re-use is an essential step to develop new technologies and processes such as Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, quantum technologies, etc. The debate will provide a comprehensive understanding of the related regulatory and technical challenges and identify the areas where the use and re-use of public services data can bring economic and social prosperity.
