As former Executive Director of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), Geert Dancet brings unparalleled expertise in chemicals legislation and its relationship to sustainability and competitiveness, advising both authorities and companies navigating this complex regulatory landscape.
An economist by training, Geert spent the majority of his career in the public sector within the EU institutions. Appointed by the European Commission as interim Executive Director of ECHA in January 2007, he went on to serve as Executive Director from 2008 to 2017 — a decade at the helm of one of Europe’s most significant regulatory agencies.
In addition to his role at FIPRA, he serves as Secretary General of the Helsinki Chemicals Forum, a leading global conference on chemicals regulatory affairs.
