Laurent Willaert is Managing Director of Greenlane Public Affairs, a public affairs consultancy specialised in Belgian and EU affairs, which he founded in 2022.
Laurent has been working in EU and Belgian public affairs for 15 years, most recently as a Director for Public Affairs and member of the Management Committee at FEBIAC, the Belux Federation of the Automotive Industry, where he was also the industry’s lead on transport decarbonisation and digital services.
Previously, Laurent served as the Belgian and EU affairs senior adviser at Dutch energy group Essent (RWE, now Innogy), working on energy markets and electrification. Before that, he was a consultant for seven years in the EU office at FIPRA Public Affairs, working on energy, transport and internal market policies. He started his career in the office of a member of the European Parliament.
Laurent studied politics (Antwerp), international relations (Leicester) and economics (Leuven) and earned an advanced degree in management at the Solvay Business School. Laurent, a Belgian national, speaks Dutch, French and English fluently.
