policy impact with FIPRA
Previous to joining FIPRA as a Special Advisor for healthcare issues in October 2014, Bernard was the European Commission’s Head of the Health Strategy leading the Health Systems, the Policy Analysis & Development and International Questions Units.
Bernard also worked in the EU Delegation to the USA in charge of health, consumers and food safety. During his years in the Commission, Bernard developed the EUs health strategy and health programs, as well as actions on cross-border healthcare, pharmaceuticals, health technology assessment, the health workforce and health investment. Prior to joining the Commission, Bernard worked in the UK Department of Health and Social Security.
Bernard has a BA, an MA (Econ), a PhD in Political Philosophy and was a Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics. Bernard is currently a Visiting Research Fellow at the London School of Hygiene. Bernard is married with two daughters and speaks English and French.
