policy impact with FIPRA
Jaroslaw Pietras joined FIPRA as Special Advisor on Sustainability, Climate and Trade issues.
Until 2020 Jaroslaw served as the Director General in the Council of the European Union, overseeing critical areas such as Climate Change, Environment, Transport, Telecom, Energy, Education, Culture, Audio-visual, Youth and Sport. He has also held key positions within the Polish Government, including Secretary of State in the Ministry of Finance and Secretary of State for Europe.
In addition to his role as a Special Advisor, he continues to serve as a Visiting Professor at the College of Europe in Bruges and holds a Senior Research Associate position at the renowned Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies in Brussels. Jaroslaw has a PhD in Economics from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Warsaw and throughout his career, has been actively involved in teaching international trade policy and European Affairs.
Furthermore, Jaroslaw has authored numerous publications focusing on the EU, sustainability and trade issues. He has been a Fulbright scholar at DUKE University in the United States, a member of the Board of the prestigious think-tank BRUEGEL and a Practitioner Fellow at the Sussex European Institute in the United Kingdom.
Fluent in Polish and English, with proficiency in French and German, Jaroslaw is well-equipped to engage with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and facilitate meaningful dialogues on critical topics.
